St David's Koinonia House
This
was our curate's house, and now is a Church Community
House. Newport Mediation has an office upstairs
and we have one for B-Lone Advice Centre. The rooms
downstairs are used for meetings and sessions by
many other groups, eg DAFS, an ADHT Support Group,
and ourselves.

On June 8th 2007, the
Bishop of Monmouth, Rt Revd Dominic Walker
OGS, the Moderator of the United Reformed Church,
Welsh Synod, Revd Peter Noble and Mrs Rosemary
Butler AM took part in the service and the official
opening of the House.
The Local Ecumenical
Partnership in Bettws is the only one in Wales
shared by the Church in Wales and the United Reformed
Church. The Ministerial Team comprises Mrs Rosie
Buxton, the Church Related Community Worker, Revd
Canon Henry Davies, Mrs Mary Beckley, the Reader
and Mr Andy Buxton, the Lay Preacher.
|
The partnership
is responding to the challenge of the 21st century
in finding ways in which the Church can be alongside
people.
Bettws
sometimes suffers from a bad press, although,
in truth, it is a lot better than some areas of
the city which are better regarded.
However,
there are many opportunities to help people in
many different ways (as there are everywhere)
The House
provides a welcoming atmosphere, where people
can feel more relaxed than in more formal surroundings
